Ice — Katherine Horrigan

After the promises
I remember
That time in the kitchen
At the end of the day.
I remember
You,
Standing at the refrigerator door
Putting ice in your glass
I heard the click of each cube
I saw the gold of new cufflinks
Shining with
Another, greater promise
